The aim of the conference every year is to provide the right environment for lean educators, whether from universities or from companies, to share experiences in learning/teaching/training to develop lean thinkers and enterpriseswith special focus on innovative teaching methods. Through blended (mashed up) learning experiences the conference aims to align the objectives of the lean community players such as managers and facilitators in organizations with teachers and researchers in their common role as lean educators. Priority will be given to papers or presentations that are created in partnership between academics and practitioners. If not in full partnership, academic papers should have some (real practitioner world)  gemba component. Similarly, practitioner presentations should entail some aspect of “education” or people development. Further, presentations will ideally include some “experiment” or trial that has been conducted regarding people or organizational development.

Practical Information

Put together a 200-400 word abstract for a paper as manifestation of interest and send it to us at Send later the full scientific paper for the peer-review process (min 4 pages, max 8 pages). After the peer-review process, a decision will be communicated to the author(s). Upon receiving a positive decision, authors will be able to submit their paper to the system. 
So far we received many abstracts, even if you didn’t send yours, feel free to send us your full paper for consideration, the call for papers is open until July 20th, do not lose this opportunity!

Accepted papers presented at ELEC2019 will be included in the conference proceedings, published within the Springer series “Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems”, indexed ISI ProceedingsSCOPUSGoogle Scholar and Springerlink. To be noted that in order to be included in the proceedings at least one author for each paper has to be registered to the conference and present the paper.

 Submission Deadlines 

Key dates for submission of papers or presentations:

  • Deadline for submission of 200-400 word Abstracts: 10th May 2019  (NOT MANDATORY) 
  • Full paper deadline: 30thJune  20thJuly 2019
  • Notification of Full Paper Acceptance: 10th September 2019 
  • Revised Full papers: 30th September 2019
  • Final submission of camera ready paper1st October 2019 

Conference dates

  • 11th November: Pre-conference workshops.
  • 12th November: Keynote speakers and parallel sessions.
  • 13th November: Parallel sessions, key notes, panel discussions.
